Sitting in a little park near where I used to live with my kids
Today is just about the longest day of the year, so much light
The question is -- to stay here at a picnic table in the shade of lovely trees
Or move to a bench in the sun
It's 7 PM, but it feels like late afternoon
Reminds me of going to the Arctic as a Navy Frogman back in the early '60s
In mid- summer the sun doesn't go all the way down
At what seems to be 3 PM, it starts up again for a new day
Here in Charlottesville, Va it feels like 3 PM, but really it's early evening
I'm moving to a bench in the sun
It's been quite hot this last week, but just now the temperature is down
This evening it's lovely. The sun feels good
